Bleach - Game 1 - Assault on Seireitei

Byakuya initiates combat with Kariya.

Gin was feeling rather lightheaded, he wondered why. 'Oh, thats right', Gin angled himself so that he was facing downward, pointing his arms toward the ground, 'That 'Kariya' isn't going to get away with this, I do hope Kaname is alright, him dieing won't do'. Gin's arms pushed off the ground the moment he made contact with it, pushing him into the air again, where he angled himself to land on his feet. Gin brushed himself off, and flicked a bit of Tousen's blood, which had gotten onto him when the man was stabbed, onto the ground.
Gin ignored Rangiku when she ran up to his side, larger matters were to be attended too. It appeared that the group of Shinigami around kept refrencing him as the leader of the group, so he deicded he best do something. (Seriously guys, it's not just me in group) Gin then proceeded to speak to his fellow Shinigami "He's been weakened by Renji, this gives us an edge to start with, Now, Renji, Byakuya, and anyone else who believes then can should proceed to launch an attack, Isane, stand on the side and heal anyone who gets injured, someone should go release the Ryoka, we'll need them if he's anywhere near as strong as he's gloating about!" Gin knew that most of the Shinigami would probablely do as they saw fit, but he had to try leading what was constantly being referred to as 'Gin and his group'.
Gin cleared his throat, he hated it when he had to talk, leaping into the air Gin proceeded to launch an attack at Jin Kariya, of the bount, hoping that he could end him here. Gin opened his eyes, his smile gone.

Rangiku walked up. I am also going tofight[

Isane looks over to the prisoner Urahara who seems to be frantically pounding on the door and yelling something. She runs over to the prisoner, noting that the Bount will be easily disposed of by her captains.

"What is it?"

Hanatarou lays dazed for a second before springing to his feet, in the best defensive stance he could do.

'Why did that seem so much like Tousen's pulse, even right down to knocking Tousen out?' Hanatarou thought to himself, worried. 'Could this man be able to copy our moves and special abilities?'

Renji Quickly regained focus on the enemy he had ahead, forgetting about the scolding the captain just gave him.

Damn.. whi is this guy? i cutted clean through him, and he is still standing!, hmpf, no matter, nobody is invincible and he has to give out at some point

Renki finished this thought as he rushes to the enemy again and ATTACKS him.

"Captain!" Shuhei shouts in a moment of shock as Tousen falls, before being dashed himself by the Bount's rushing attack. Gritting his teeth, he INITIATES COMBAT with the white-haired assassin as well.

Getting no reply from the ryoka, Isane turns her head to Gin-taisa's orders and simply nods. "I will do my best," she says and prepares medical gear to heal her fellow shinigami.

Yachiru glanced around.

She was worried about her Division. Ken-Ken was right here, but she had not seen Ikakku in a long time, and Yumichika had gone missing when that creepy guy had attacked To-To...

Yachiru sighed. "Ken-chi? I wunna go see if that guy knows where Ikki and YumiYumi are." And she began dragging the mighty Kenpachi around by the ear.

Rangiku also thought he must have some weakness. She took out her weapon and jumped at the white haired man with a mighty attack

Sighing slightly, and with a curt nod, Sasakibe walks over to Rangiku, and turns towards her.

"I apologise for not coming sooner. I had no idea how serious the situation really was."

Sasakibe joins the others in initiating the attack against the bount.

With everyone jumping to the attack Izuru decides it would best for him to open the door to let the ryoka join the fight. I hope they truly are on our side because if not things are about to get ugly. Running past Isane he arrives at the door that Urahara is banging on.

While preparing her medical gear, Isane shouts out to the group, "Someone must protect Tousen-taisa!"

After hearing his lieutenant's words, Hanatarou remembers the bond he formed with Tousen from being paired with him and, taking a deep breath, goes over to protect Tousen any way possible. (Is this a 'legal' command? I don't know if there's like a defend other command, but I want it to be like that, if possible)

Sorry folks.

It is currently 7 PM and I haven't been to sleep yet today after being awake all night, all morning, AND all afternoon writing five papers for school. My brain is currently cheese candle foot shorts thermostat wax right now, so I am going to sleep before these damn stars get any louder.

Update comes tomorrow.

Urahara slumps against the wall of Senzaikyu in a huff. "No one's coming," he sighs. "I can't believe that they're just going to leave us in here, while..."

Urahara's words are cut off as the door to Senzaikyu opens with a loud creak. Standing there, out of breath, is Izuru Kira.

"Lieutenant Kira," comes a growl from behind him. "What exactly do you think you're doing?" It's none other than the General himself, looking none too pleased that one of his lieutenants is violating the security of Senzaikyu prison.

"G... General! Sir!" Kira says shakily. "With all due respect, sir... We need their help! They know more about this threat than we do, and... I trust them!"

With a sigh, General Yamamoto turns away, looking to the sky. "Very well," he states. "The vote to release them has carried anyway. His hand moves in a barely visible flash and tosses Urahara's and Ichigo's zanpakutou back to them.

"What about Rukia," says Ichigo, holding his Zangetsu with a stern look on his face.

Nervously, Rukia looks at the General over Ichigo's shoulder.

The General closes his eyes and nods. He tosses Rukia's Sode no Shirayuki to her as well and says, "Come on. We have work to do."

The tempest around Kariya Jin rages as Byakuya, Renji, Gin, Hanatarou, Shuhei, Rangiku, and Isane fend off the fierce winds and lightning produced by the Bount's doll.

"Stay back, Hanatarou! Isane!" Gin calls out through the howling wind. "Byakuya, Rangiku, Renji, Shuhei... We're gonna take him down."

"We won't let him take Captain Tousen like he did Captain Hitsugaya!" Shuhei yells through gritted teeth.

"We attack together," says Byakuya, holding Senbonzakura in front of him.

"He's as good as dead!" grins Renji.

Rankigu points her Haineko at the Bount. "Are we ready?"

The Shinigami toss each other a single look, before leaping at the Bount, swords swinging. There is a clash, a huge cloud of wind and dust, and a surge of powerful energy that can be felt even in the distant corners of Ryukongai.

Ichigo shields his eyes from the tremendous flash eminating from near the Soukyoku. "What... the hell was that?" he says, somewhat shaken.

Standing back from the group, Urahara simply smugly covers his eyes with his hat, and General Yamamoto stares sternly, without a word.

And then silence. The dust slowly clears. Hanatarou shakes his head, unable to see anything in the cloud. As he waits for a sign from anyone as to what happened, he touches his zanpakutou to himself. There is a blue glow and his wound is healed.

A light breeze blows, dispersing the cloud. Standing there are Gin, Byakuya, Rangiku, Renji, and Shuhei, their blades crossed where Kariya had been. There's no sign of the Bount anywhere.

"He's... run off!" shouts Renji. "That BASTARD!"

"We going after him?" mutters Shuhei.

"Wait, before you go... Run! Itegumo!" Isane unsheaths her zanpakutou, and a cold breeze of ice crystals swirls among her comrades. The crystals land on their wounds and melt to water, healing them.

NOTE: Only the players that were in combat with Kariya at the *start* of this turn (Gin, Byakuya, Renji, Rangiku, Shuhei, Hanatarou, and Isane) may choose to pursue.

Gin nods a gracious 'thank-you' to Isane, then, without even talking it over with the rest of his associates, Gin lept into pursuit of their fleeing foe.

Something proceeded to occure to him while tracking Kariya, the absence of of the captain of the 8th division, Shunsui. "Strange, come to think of it he hasn't participated in ANY of the latest battles....", Gin closed his mouth, but remianed in deep thought, as he pursued Kariya.

Urahara's eyes snap open as the door creaks on its hinges, and is on his feet much more quickly than his usually-cool demeanor would suggest. He is among the first to exit the cell, taping his foot with a nervous energy.

things are about to turn very ugly, or very weird, or both

Urahara turns to his cellmates and reminds them that Kariya is especially dangerous to them, with their human souls. Upon retrieving Benihime, he bows deeply, turns on his heel, and heads in the general direction of the rest of the group. He is not pursuing, but rather tracking.

follow the trail of blood, and there will be the target... but what of the others?

Urahara is lost in thought as he clops and clatters in slow, careful pursuit.

"Well, I can't pursue the Bount as I didn't see where he went. For now, I'd like to join and remaining shinigamia and help heal their wounds."

I believe Tousen is in the worst shape, so I'd like to start with him if he is still around.

Renji was so focused in the fight that he had not even noticed he was wounded before until isane healed him, so he gave Isane a quick nod of appreciation before running of to Pursue the Cowardly assasin.

"You wont get away! not this time!!!"

Hanatarou looks up, uncertain what to do. He wanted to stay and help Tousen, but also wanted to go help and heal the others, if need be. After a little more thought, he stood up and said, "Isane, I think we both better go in pursuit of Kariya, since Inoue can heal Tousen and others here."

Can't attack, can't pursue... what to do, what to do

Urahara Does whatever is closest to "pursue" proper, and that most hotly. His Spider-Senses tell him that Kariya must die immediately.

Shuhei follows Captain Ichimaru and Captain Kuchiki, and PURSUES the Bount.

Aizen quietly runs off after the Bount and attempts to stalk.

Still a little shaken after his minor confrontation with the general Izuru's thoughts turn to the powerful energy surge. It certainly felt like touble. He felt like rushing over to see what was going on but despite what he had just told the captain Izuru still felt a little unsure about letting the former prisoners run around on their own and it looked like they were heading in the direction of the surge anyway so he decided to stick with them for now. He puts a question to the group. "What can you tell me about this 'bount?' What exactly is he and where did he come from?"

"Where on earth is that whitey-headed guy?" sulks Yachiru, dragging Zaraki around practically by the ear.

"How am I supposed to know," growls the 11th division captain, wandering down one blind alley after the other.

"We've gotta go help Gin-Gin and..." the little girl trails off, squinting off into a dark alley. "And... there's someone following us, Ken-chan."

Out into the street steps a pair of white shoes and white trousers. Uryuu Ishida, alone, walks out of the shadows and adjusts his glasses with his Quincy Glove-covered hand, smiling.

"He can't have gotten far," shouts Gin. "Fan out!" He and Hanatarou took off to the north, Byakuya went to the east, Shuhei to the west, and Renji to the south.

"I can't sense him anywhere!" Hanatarou says sadly.

"He's pretty strong," mutters Shuhei. "He should be able to sense."

"This doesn't make sense...," Byakuya says. "He's not anywhere to the north... or the south... or the east or west either." His eyes suddenly shoot wide open with realization. "Th... that means...!"

"What can you tell me about this... 'Bount?'" Kira asks the Ryoka, still with his eye warily on Ichigo... That slash he'd received was still fresh in his mind. "What exactly is he and where did he come from?"

"The Bount are immensely powerful beings," says 1st Division Lieutenant Chojiro Sasakibe, suddenly appearing alongside the group. "They drain the souls of their enemies to maintain their strength and their vitality. And as you've seen...they're strong enough to take down a high-ranking Shinigami officer."

"They use dolls with distinct personalities, similar to our Zanpaktou," adds General Yamamoto, keeping up with the group despite his age and apparent total lack of physical strength.

"We're almost there," Urahara adds, looking ahead toward the Soukyoku. "Um, you know, General," he smirks, his hand on his hat, "It's so nice to see you again. I must say, you certainly look very well considering it's been a whole century since--"

"Now's not the time, Urahara," the General cuts him off.

"Oh, of course," Urahara chuckles. "Um... if, er... I was just wondering you know...," he touches his index fingers together. "About that whole... 'execution order' thing, if--"

"Not now, Urahara!" the General snaps. "We have to get to Captain Tousen before--" He suddenly stops in his tracks. "No!"

"General, what is it?" Rukia asks him.

The General's eyes survey the Soukyoku. "We're... ... too late."

How could we have fallen for this, Byakuya seethes, turning back to where Rangiku and Isane stand guard over Tousen's fallen body.

"MASTUMOTO!" he shouts. "KOTETSU! LOOK OUT! IT'S A TRICK!"

"What?!" Gin stops short, Hanatarou alongside him.

"He's trying to draw us apart," it dawns on Renji.

"Come on! Hurry back!" Byakuya does an about-face and tears headlong across the rooftops back to the Soukyoku.

"What does he mean, a trick?" Rangiku asks, looking to Tousen's body, then almost instinctively casting her gaze upwards.

Like the General said... too late.

Her eyes open wide in shock as she sees Kariya Jin in freefall toward their position from his hiding place a mile above the Soukyoku. With a blast of lightning energy from his hand he knocks Isane and Rangiku away and lands, driving his hand deep into Tousen's chest.

The Captain's body jerks once as his soul flows out of him and into Kariya. Isane looks on, terrified, feeling Kariya's spirit pressure increase more and more... A swirl of energy surrounds the Bount... and then Tousen's body crumbles into dust.

Kariya rises to his feet, grinning. The cut in his shirt hanging open reveals to everyone that the gaping slash in his chest seems to have been healed.

"You monster!" screams Renji, swinging his blade right at Kariya's neck. Gin comes up on Kariya's back and also attacks, trying to flank the Bount. But Kariya blocks both Shinigami's attacks with nothing more than his forearms. Hanatarou, tears blurring his eyes, even tries to attack. Kariya moves his head and catches Hanatarou's blade in his teeth. With a twist and a swirl of energy, Kariya knocks all three of them away.

"Scatter, Senbonzakura!" Byakuya leaps into the air, releasing his zanpakutou at the enemy. Kariya leaps to the side, avoiding the full brunt of Byakuya's attack, and only receiving a minor wound to the side.

With all the distractions provided by the others, Shuhei manages to get behind Kariya and line up a powerful thrust that impales the Bount from behind, right through the left arm. However, Kariya seems totally unfazed, turning his head slowly to grin at the Lieutenant. With one kick, he drives the Lieutenant to the ground as well before plucking Shuhei's zanpakutou out of his arm with a single pull and tossing it away.

"Freeze, you vampire freak!" comes a punkish voice from the stairs leading up to the Soukyoku. Still moving almost in slow motion, as if he was still accustoming himself to the power now flowing around inside him.

Ichigo Kurosaki points his Zangetsu at the Bount, grinning, tasting both the battle that was about to come and the victory that he was certain would follow. Urahara, Rukia, and Chad take to his sides, with Chojiro and Kira close behind. Orihime stands by in support, and General Yamamoto takes up the rear, watching all that was going on. Sousuke Aizen appears from the air to join them, his zanpakutou also drawn.

Kariya starts to chuckle, then laugh out loud, his eyes wild with power, and spiritual energy, almost visible, crackling around him.

"Bring it on, fools," he growls at the large group of Shinigami and Ryoku surrounding him.

Gin sighed, he knew in force and blunt power they had an edge on the bount, but he was cunning and quick, they had no hope if he ran this time, sure, they could all pursue, but how much time can they waste chasing a bount who outmatches them? Surely he couldn't be the only one... How much time can be spared attacking only one of the bount, who's only becoming stronger with every soul he devours? When he had eaten Toushiro he had been to scared to stand and fight, but now he had enough stength to parry all of their attacks, had he been able to do this when he ate Toushiro he would never have fled, but slaughtered the shinigami who were guarding Toushiro. He was adapting as they fought him, not getting tired, but stronger, faster, and even smarter. Gin knew that he was only going to flee if they all attacked him, but what else could they do?
With no other visible option Gin prepared to attack, his blade at the ready, "You have attacked us in a blind bloodlust, you have killed two of our comrades, but I assure you, none of us intend to allow you any more to feast upon", Gin brushed a piece of his hair out of his face, "Tonight, the all mighty Kariya Jin of the bount will face the might of the Shinigami of the Soul Society, you shall pay for your crimes!".

"N-no. Yet again I've failed someone, this time it's Tousen. To be stopped by his TEETH, though?" Hanatarou took a deep breath to calm himself. "I fear me attempting an attack will have the same result, so I'll just defend."

Oh, now this is just unacceptable.

Urahara awakens Benihime, and commands once again, "Sing!" This enemy will receive no quarter. Without so much as a cursory flourish, Uraha begins his Attack.

This here Bount is going down.

Enraged by this second murder, this time of his own Captain, Shuhei continues his ATTACK, scowling and vowing to himself that this man - whatever monster he might be - will not leave this area alive!

Yachiru's sniffed the air, and gave the man in front of her a crooked look.

"This whitey-suit isn't a shinigami, so what is he..?"

Seeing that the man was not moving out of their way, she prepared to defend against him if needed.
