"Uh sure, but aren't you worried about Satoko? Hey the lunch room isn't that way!"

Chiken managed to hear Zetsumei's exclamation and turned around. "Huh? I thought it was that way? Meh, I guess it's not. Oh and the fourth division has him right there..." Chiken gestured at where Satoko had been, but all but one person from fourth division were gone, that last one cleaning up some of the blood on the floor. "Oh. Oh well, I'm sure he's fine since they're gone, right?" Chiken's stomach grumbled once again, almost as loud as his naivety this time. (Almost, nothing but an airplane would be louder, and Chiken would stare at said airplane and ask everyone what that was)

After a century in 4th Division, Isane had attended enough wounded Shinigami to know when one was beyond saving. Satoko Takeshi's face had gone from red to blue to ash gray. Once that gray set in, it was too late. Too much blood lost. Vital organs were already damaged beyond repair, and the brain was so starved for oxygen that cell death would put the victim in a vegetative state, even if a miracle were to occur and he survived.

But no matter how close to death a patient was, that never once, in her entire career, stopped Isane from trying, as desperately as she could.

"Way of Binding 46, Renew!" Warm, soothing reiatsu crackled through the room in bright colors, mostly golden white with hints of pink and blue. She stopped to catch her breath, sweat beading on her face. Six straight kidou spells and no improvement. No matter. That was something Captain Unohana had always told her - That even if only a miracle could save someone's life, one must continue to hope for that miracle.

Isane took another breath and held her hands over the dying boy's neck one more time.

"Way of Binding 46, Renew!" A flash of light. "Way of Binding 46, RENEW!!!"

So much reiatsu was swirling through the room that Hanatarou's hands were tingling. He knew what a powerful healer Kotetsu-sensei was, and he knew from the way she was desperately casting kidou spell after kidou spell that the boy on the table had little time left to live.

It was only a few times that Hanatarou had seen his lieutenant this way.

He knew how grave the situation was.

Once the brain begins to lose oxygen, the cells begin firing off receptors wildly in a desperate attempt to stay alive. This was the origin of the phenomenon known as the 'death dream.' Stereotypically, the victim's vision becomes obscured by what the brain interprets as a bright white light, but in reality, anything can happen to a person's senses as he dies.

"Way of Bi... " Isane gasped for breath in the middle of casting her spell. "Way... Way of... Way... of...." She closed her eyes. She knew she didn't have much left in her. But she had to try. Never give up as long as your patient's heart is still breathing.

"WAY OF BINDING 46, RENEW!"

Another swirl of reiatsu streamed through the room. With her hands, Isane focused the bulk of her energy on Satoko's wound, but it was no use.

Her hands gripped the edge of the operating table, her legs weak, breathing heavily, sweating, trying to hold herself up.

That was it, she said to herself. That was all I could do.

Shuhei didn't even need to ask how Satoko was. The blinds in the room were drawn, and the medical ward was as silent as a tomb. Isane was bent over the boy, every last drop of energy in her body spent.

"I think we're... too late," Shuhei said to Orihime.

Although he has nothing of value to say, Kazu packed up his notes (written in lyrical form to better help him memorize the history of the seireitei), and followed Isane to the source of conflict.

"I'm here to help!" Kazu says, but doesn't repeat as he is afraid he'll be getting in the way.

"No we are not. I can still save him."

With that, Orihime concentrated as an orange sheild came up around Satoko Takeshi's body. The barrier was held in place by a small glowing object. Orihime pressed her left hand onto the gloing shield as she consentrated. Slowly but surely, Satoko's body began to almost assemble itself tegether.

Just a little further now... this is the second time I've done something like this. He's not dead but he's so close.

Orihime began to sweat. Satoko was finailly back together and she lifted the barrier.

"There. He is healed but he will need rest. He won't be up and about just yet though. I need a bit.. of rest... too"

With that Orihime passed out. (She had used up a lot of energy ni her earlier fight.)

Daisuke stood up at attention when Hisagi-sensei entered the room and blew his whistle. It seemed as if time had gone by so quickly. It was as if his fight with the younger Kijou-san had never started.

So Takeshi-san was in bad shape, hm. Daisuke tried not to let it rattle him. They were all Shinigami cadets, and he knew that Takeshi-san was alot tougher than he looked. Besides, with the Academy's medical crew led by 4th Division's lieutenant, surely Takeshi-san would pull through. Daisuke sheathed his sword and bowed to his opponent. "Arigatou."

Igarashi hadn't received a direct reply from the person attending Rikiki, but after observing her a little, it was rather evident she had just passed out, nothing really serious had happened to her. However, he then shortly heard Shuhei's whistle, and he didn't carry any good news with him. Igarashi hadn't paid attention to Satoko's match, but apparently, he was now gravely wounded. Igarashi cursed under his breath, and instinctively planned to follow everyone to the medical ward shortly after they left. Before he acted though, his mind stopped him, making him think about what exactly he planned to accomplish by going there. So... what's the big idea? You know shit about healing, you can't even patch yourself, let alone someone else. The only thing you know how to do "right" is to fight. What good would it do for anyone else that knows what they are doing if you went and took more space?

Igarashi clenched his teeth, once again, he felt impotent and powerless, unable to do anything at all even though his friends were once again in peril, he just slammed his foot on the gym's ground. Deciding to stay there, next to Rikiki, even if he couldn't do anything for her either, at least he wouldn't be a nuisance there.

Isane didn't catch the girl so much as fall underneath her as she collapsed. There wasn't enough energy in her body to catch anyone. And even if there had been, she'd have been to dumbstruck by the miracle she'd just witnessed.

Satoko Takeshi was breathing again. A healthy color had returned to his face, and the wound on his neck was completely gone - all the wounds on his body were gone. Not even scars were left. It was as if the wounds had never happened, and instead of the eternal sleep of death, Satoko was simply slumbering away normally on the operating table.

"Th... this is... this girl's power?" Isane stammered, her eyes wide. It was remarkable. It wasn't a mystery anymore why the General had singled her out.

[Okay this is slightly out of timeline...]

The effects of the battlefield were dizzying. The anticipation in the air was almost tangible in preparation for the skirmishes to come. Nevertheless Midori couldn't manage to put aside all her anxiety regarding some of her classmates... most specifically Ximenez. One thing she was going to have to drill into her own head eventually was that she couldn't let herself be distracted by him like this. Closing her eyes for a moment, she brought all of her mind into concentration, centered on the sheathed blade in her hands. Onorinowai's glowing eyes, interposed over the curve of the blade, filled her vision, drowning thoughts of Ximenez and worries of the unpredictability of battle out of sight, out of thought.

Compared to the chaos that occurred afterward drowned out pretty much all that had occurred in the duels. In the lunacy Midori wasn't even sure what had happened... she remembered a blaze of kidou, several people shouting, and at the last Hisagi-Sensei commanding the students to cease combat and file out of the battlefield. Somewhat in a daze of her own thoughts, she filed out with the rest of the students, her thoughts reeling on exactly what might have occurred and who it was who had been hurt. In the lunacy of the past half hour she hadn't been able to keep track of the injured.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. He'll probably be okay. Sensie told us not to go to the medical ward anyway. Here, it's this way to the cafeteria. Let's try and meet up with everyone else there."

Chiken nodded and followed Zetsumei as he led the way to the cafeteria. He was glad for a guide since he already started off in the wrong direction and was fantasizing about the lunch he would eat. So much so, that he totally ignored Zetsumei's horrid condition and the small trail of blood he was leaving.

Once they arrived, Zetsumei hobbled over to a table, visibly strained. Chiken got straight in line though, and came back with a mountain of food, as usual. Once he sat down, he took a bite of a sandwich when he finally noticed Zetsumei's wounds. "You're bleeding, Zetsumei. Try not to get any one your food, it tastes bad." Not fully realizing what he just said even, Chiken continued eating and got to sandwich three when he dropped his sandwich onto the pile and stared wide-eyed at Zatsumei. "Oh, wait. Wow, are you alright, Zetsumei?Uh, Way of Binding Three: Refresh!" However, Chiken's mouth was full and that came out as, "Rmm, mrmph. Mrr, arph mouph nrmurmph, Mrmphnermhem? Zetsu realised he was pretty hungry too.

Zetsu went to go get a sandwhich and sat back down.

"I still have no idea what you said or did, but thanks again. I feel a lot better."

The attack Kasahara has initiated never followed through. In mid-kick, Kasahara noticed that some of the other students had already finished their bout and a fewer number of them had fallen still on the floor. Amongst those whom she had noticed was Takeshi. In surprise, the tomboy missed Midori completely and caused her to stumble in a halt. Soon all eyes were on Takeshi and the medical squad tending to him.

At first, it didn't seem like such a big deal; the medical squad was also tending to Mizukin and the students who managed to stay conscious after their fight. They would take care of the scarred boy, right? They were members of the 4th squad for a reason; they specialized in healing and tending to the wounded. Deep down, Kasahara knew something wasn't quite right. They weren't treating Takeshi as effectively as they did with the other students. Weren't they finished yet?

Forgetting that she and Midori were still in the middle of a fight, Kasahara took a single step toward the crowd gathering around Takeshi. Something had to be wrong. Was it serious? She couldn't get a good look at the blond boy but something had to have gone horribly wrong for the teacher to crowd around him as well. The brunette waited, uncaring if Midori decided to attack her. As soon as Shuhei-sensei turned away from the crowd and lead a female shinigami from the medical squad out of the gym, Kasahara felt her spirits lift by an increment, hoping that the blond boy was well again. Unfortunately for her he turned to the rest of the class and announced quite the opposite of what she wanted to hear.

"Everyone stop fighting! I'm dismissing class due to serious injury. Go ahead and go to lunch early, then report back to homeroom for your afternoon class. Lieutenant Kotetsu will probably be busy taking care of Takeshi-san and Mizukin-san, so you'll just have free study for SL&P class. And stay out of the medical ward. If you're concerned, the best thing to do is to stay out of the Lieutenant's way while she's trying to save your classmates' lives. Okay, class dismissed!"

Something within her chilled her. There was a feeling of fear and dread when her ears fell upon those words. Serious injury? Why did this effect her so much when she acted so coldly to Rikiki's "death" only yesterday? Kasahara tried to shake the frightening feeling in her limbs but they still tingled in anxiety. Without another word to anyone else, she followed Shuhei and Orihime out the gym and down the halls towards the medical ward, keeping some distance between her and the two. She knew better than to disobey instructions from the teacher but her feet seemed to have a mind of their own. She did, however, stop herself from actually entering the ward.

The brunette just stood there and waited for something. Kasahara had no way of knowing what went on behind the walls that separated herself and Takeshi. What was she suppose to do? Why did it actually matter so much to herself. Her Zanpakutou seem to finally make itself apparent again by echoing a deep chuckle in her soul. She didn't get it and these mix emotions of fear, confusion, and hate didn't make things any clearer for her.

Hate?

Her lips trembled ever so slightly in the dark hallway. "I don't get it..."

"Hey, thanks! How did you do that? I think I need something to eat too, I'll be right back."

Chiken started to swallow his bite of food, but didn't finish before Zetsumei got up, still mostly injured. He limped over and back, Chiken mildly surprised at that man's ability to ignore the massive wounds he had.

"I still have no idea what you said or did, but thanks again. I feel a lot better."

Chiken had swallowed his bite of food by this time and had another few bites for good measure. "Well, I cast refresh on you, but you're going to need more. Way of Binding Three: Refresh!" After casting it, Chiken took a few bites of his food and cast refresh again, then eating more food. This became a loop that would continue for most of lunch.

((Okay, the post is finally done! Sorry if there are any continuity, grammar, or spelling errors. I'll fix them later. Also, no color yet. Now with 100% more color!))

Ryouichi watched, thoughts racing, as Orihime sped out the door after Shuhei. Without hesitation, he shunpoed over to the doorframe, stopping only a moment to turn back towards his remaining classmates. "I'm going to go check on Satoko! See you at lunch!" he called cheerfully, sounding calm despite the dire feel of the situation. With that he took off after Hisagi and Orihime, continuing to shunpo down the hall with speed that no normal academy student should have.

As he finally caught up to them at the medical ward, the scene that met his eyes seemed heavy with an air of despair. Ryouichi swept his eyes over the room, taking in the expressions and postures of everyone present. Shuhei looked to be in either denial or shock, and the two healers from the fourth division were shaking, one with exhaustion and the other trembling from the charged reiatsu that smothered the atmosphere around them. It's impressive really. Ryouichi thought, All of this reiatsu is hers. The strain had obviously taken a toll on the lieutenant, who looked to be about on the verge of a breakdown. Or maybe he was underestimating her. At the very least, she was close to passing out.

Then Ryouichi's eyes fell on Satoko, who was looking very much like a dead man. Strangely, Ryouichi was unsure how he felt about that. Just as he was bowing his head to attempt to organize his thoughts, two voices broke into his concentration.

"I think we're... too late."

"No we are not. I can still save him."

Upon hearing the determination in the new girl's voice, Ryouichi began to shake his head slowly. Denial, huh? he let out a barely audible sigh, gazing sadly at the girl's back. It's only her second day, and I can already tell what kind of person she is. It's unfortunate that such a kindhearted girl would have to go through something like-

Suddenly there was a flash of light, and the room was bathed in a golden glow as a barrier of the same color enveloped Satoko's corpse. Ryouichi watched, eyes wide with surprise, as Orihime reached out to the luminous field and began concentrating. She's...What...?! Ryouichi's thoughts screeched to a grinding halt as he tried to process what he was seeing. Inconceivable! That's completely impossible! his logical mind screamed as he began to realize that what he was seeing defied all laws of nature.

Upset at his muddled condition, Ryouichi forcefully tore his thoughts away from the impossibility of the situation and began to analyze things from a completely clinical standpoint. Judging from the way Satoko's wounds are healing in reverse order, I'd say this is some kind of space-time reversal, but... something seems off. He turned to look at Orihime's back as she continued 'healing' Satoko. Ryouichi noticed that she was beginning to sweat. What kind of human is it that can reject the very laws of nature? Wait a minute! Isn't her zanpakuto's release word "Reject"? A Rejection of phenomena? But that's...

Fortunately, Ryouichi was saved from more mental anguish as he registered that Orihime had begun talking again.

"...-He won't be up and about just yet though. I need a bit.. of rest... too"

Ryouichi blinked as the girl began to collapse, and then, on instinct, quickly knelt down to catch her as she fell. Unfortunately, she fell to the side instead, landing on top of Isane and unknowingly breaking her fall. "Th... this is... this girl's power?" he heard Isane stutter. "Isane-sensei?" Ryouichi asked, unsure if she was in the condition to answer his question. After giving her a few very long moments to continue being in shock, Ryouichi cleared his throat softly and turned to the other healer in the room. "Hanatarou-san, is there an extra cot?" he asked, looking pointedly at his auburn-haired classmate.

(Apologies if this post is genral crap, having to re-write it at 12:30 didn't help it's quality or grammar.)

Rikiki Brown was dreaming. Fully lucid, she was situated in the farmiliar field in which Uzumaki lived, on her back. Uzumaki stood over her, having looked... smug as soon as he had seen the defeated look on her face. The time had come.

"So you get it now do you, girl?" Uzumaki smirked, sitting down in front of her.

Rikiki nodded. "I-I screwed up again..."

"Indeed you did. I should think that this clues you in. And after all that blathering about how much stronger you would be..." Uzumaki switched to a more friendly tone, "You know now, right? You can't do this on your own. You're not strong enough. Sooner or later, you're going to have to use me, girl."

Rikiki nodded again. Whereas she once saw Uzumaki as an enemy, she now looked at the man with a sort of grudging awe. Uzumaki merely smirked wider. Still a child, so easy to manipulate. Sensing the kill, he made his offer:
"When you need me, all you need to know is 'twirl.'" And turned away.

Rikiki repeated 'twirl' once, and smiled before fading out of the field. Uzumaki grinned sadistically. He had her. Now, it was just a matter of time...

--------------------

Rikiki awoke to be unusually cherry, even for herself. The incident had left her feeling energized and confident. Finding Igarashi beside her, she sat up, and gave him a tight hug. "Good morning Iggy!"

Igarashi had spent the rest of his time waiting and sulking, watching how many of his classmates actually went and followed Hisagi towards the medical ward. For a moment, he thought that most of them had no business going there and that they would just get in the way. But then again, maybe one of them actually knew how they could help, unlike Igarashi, who still stood there beside the unconscious Rikiki, not noticing she was now awake...

Quote :
Finding Igarashi beside her, she sat up, and gave him a tight hug. "Good morning Iggy!"

Completely caught by surprise, Igarashi's body stiffened and his eyes opened wide in surprise and embarrassment as he was being hugged by Rikiki, effectively breaking any previous order of thought Igarashi had on his mind "Huah-Whuh?" He blabbered unintelligently, his face quickly turning bright red. It was until now that he successfully registered what Rikiki had said to him.

"Ah..." Unsure of what was he supposed to do or feel right now. Igarashi stared down at Rikiki and to where she was hugging him, noticing that she was now staining herself with Igarashi's blood from his wounds, this making him feel even more embarrassed and his face flushing even more. But somehow... the mere fact that she was hugging him also felt comforting to him... It was all very odd, and Iga's mind was still having trouble ordering it's thoughts, he was barely able to finally follow up his unintelligible babble with an actual and hopefully decent reply. "G-good morning?"

...

Yeah, he was not quite thinking straight yet.

Satoko grimaced, this wasn't right. This couldn't be happening. He'd gone the extra mile, he'd unleashed his Shikai, him and Ryuunosuke had fought together and Anshou had still managed to knock him to the ground, and wound him this agonizingly. Takeshi only took solace in the fact that he had downed Anshou first, and in essence had defeated him before Anshou had taken him down. Not to mention that he should be bleeding internally and... That had been a good fight, it wasn't right to wish immense pain upon another. Takeshi rolled his head over and around resting his eyes one Anshou he tried to speak but it came out as more of a choked gargle. A second attempt came, still almost drowned by the blood in his throat, but words could be made out if you listened closely enough.

"Thank you, Anshou."

...

Ow.

Takeshi's mind had slipped away from him, and now he lay, bleeding out, his mind off in a world of its own. As Satoko Takeshi felt the last bit of life left in him began to slip away, taking any will to live and any pain he was experiencing with it. Satoko Takeshi was going to rest now, rest for a very long time.

“Hello” the hollow, empty voice vibrated through Takeshi’s ears, it was strange, and yet astoundingly familiar. “It looks like I finally have you… after all this time, you are mine. You’re so close its lovely”, Takeshi could now see who the bearer of the voice now, but he could make out naught more then an outline. “What… What the hell are you?” Takeshi asked, this was the second time he’d asked that question in the last two days. The previous answer had been unnerving, and this one was too. “I… Am death, Satoko Takeshi. And you’ve cheated too many times, now I’ve finally got you!” Takeshi would have gasped, but for some reason found himself unable to, instead he remained silent. “So now, here we are, I’ve got you.” Takeshi disagreed, “I’m not dead yet, otherwise I wouldn’t be having these hallucinations of death- URK." Takeshi was cut off, as he felt himself begin to fade away entirely, he was dying no longer, he was dead…

Or so he had believed. Takeshi blinked into conscious momentarily, a swirling storm of lights and sounds bombarded him almost instantly. None of it made sense right away, but he managed a tired sentence before sleep and rest reclaimed him "… What… the hell... Just happened to me?" Then he went for a nice long snooze, and anyone who answered his question would have been met with the reply of "Zzz... zzz..."

Her soul ached as she dwelled on her own emotions and the current situation. Still standing a few feet from the medical ward, she could have sworn that this feeling fear and anxiety were familiar to her although she couldn't quite remember why. It was an unpleasant feeling that burned at her heart. Kasahara feared the worst, not knowing whether the scarred blond boy was damaged beyond repair or perhaps gotten marginally better. Why bring this heart ache? When did they get so close for this sort of torment to effect her? Hey eyebrows furrowed in angry as her face turned red in anguish. All the thoughts were soon drowned out by the growing laughter resonating from her weapon.

"'Push on and be stronger.' Isn't that right?" The gruff voice echoed in her soul. Both her and Kyouryuketsu already knew what Kasahara had to do to escape such grief; They knew what she should do to prevent this overwhelming fear from consuming her again. Tears stung her chocolate colored eyes as she bared her teeth at the wall that stood between her and the medical ward. Her hands were clenched tightly into as fight and shook unsteadily as she built up enough anger to spat out a single word in a hushed tone. "Idiot."

She huffed and turned away from the medical ward without finding out what had happened to Takeshi or his current condition. The hot headed brunette moved on towards the cafeteria and find something to smother out the flames of anger within her. As Kasahara recieved a plate of various meats and rice, her foul mood was apparent to anyone observing her. She set her food down loudly and sat at Zetsumei and Chiken's table; the tomboy didn't feel like eating alone but she didn't really want to talk either. The two males were busy eating and healing themselves repeatingly anyways.

Hikari walked way from her fight with the blue haired girl to worry about An-chan. He'd been taken from the room bleeding on a stretcher just like that other boy he was fighting, An-chan had slashed at his neck. This worried Hikari because An-chan wasn't like that, he was usually very nice and gentle. Hikari was upset that everyone seemed worried about the other kid and that made Hikari mad a little. "Why isn't anyone worried about An-chan?"

She crossed her arms and then she remembered that she was supposed to train with Ximenez and this was as good a time as any. Hikari went over to Ximenez and pulled on his sleeve. "Hey, do you think you could take me and train me somewhere now?"

Hanatarou couldn't take his eyes off what had just occurred. This ryoka had just done a miracle, and though it had taken a lot out of her, it looked as if it was something she could do more or less at will.

Ryouichi Kanue wrote:
"Hanatarou-san, is there an extra cot?"

"Huh? Oh... yes," Hanatarou said, Kanue's words snapping him back to reality. "Give me a hand here," he said, gently wrapping his arms around Orihime's shoulders.

"Give me a hand here."

Nodded his acquiescence, Ryouichi took ahold of Inoue's legs, and together, he and Hanatarou carefully lifted her into a nearby unoccupied bed. Once they had finished Ryouichi promptly dropped down into a nearby chair, sighing, and began to massage his temples. After a few seconds of scilence, punctuated by Hanatarou hurriedly throwing a few spare sheets over Orihime, Ryouichi released his head and rose from his seat. I'll think over all of this later, he decided, there are other things that take priority.

"I should probably get going." Ryouichi cast a worried eye over his classmates again. "Are you sure they won't need anything else, Hanatarou-san?"

"We're, uh... we're fine here," said Shuhei, looking from Orihime to Anshou to Satoko in the three occupied beds in a row, and then to Isane, who still seemed both exhausted from all the effort she took trying to heal Satoko's injuries, and shocked from Orihime's exhibition of power. "Besides," Shuhei forced a chuckle, trying to seem nonplussed, "Didn't I tell you kids to stay away from the medical wing? Go eat lunch, I'll...," he looked down at Isane again. "We'll catch up with you all later. If we don't get back to your classroom by the dinner bell, go ahead and dismiss yourselves. And, uh... try and be prudent who you talk to about this, alright?"

Note to 3-A:

It's more or less going to be free roleplaying for y'all until the fights are over for 3-B. (It shouldn't take nearly as long as y'all's exercise, though.) You can eat lunch, go talk to people, go watch 3-B, whatever you want. If you have a specific idea for something you'd like to do right now, I'm all ears for ideas.

But gain as much experience as you can. Right after this, I'm cutting it ahead to Homecoming.

Everyone has a date by now... right? Catface

(Rushed post was rushed)

Blorp.

Rikiki had still been hugging Igarashi when the sound came up. She frowned, wondering what the foreign noise was. It came again, longer and louder.

Glooort.

Realizing the sound was her own stomache, Rikiki pulled away, looking mildly embaressed. It had been qute a while since breakfast, hadn't it? Attempting to laugh the stomache gurgle off, Rikiki chuckled,
"Heh heh... well, should we get lunch?"

Igarashi's puzzled face was evident even after Rikiki had let go of him, and that had now asked him for lunch. For a brief moment, he couldn't help but wonder why was she acting so casually and friendly to him even though she had just woken up, wasn't she hurt? He looked at her clothes, but apparently, any blood that was on them was actually his. This also made him worry a bit when she actually noticed. Still, even if he didn't know the why, the fact that she was being far more friendly with him made him feel good. But then, he was still worried about Satoko, but the back of his mind told him that he still couldn't do anything as it was.

Silently, Igarashi nodded at Rikiki, trying to straighten his face so he wouldn't look so foolish anymore, his face still lightly flushed, he began to walk towards the cafeteria, but trying to not get ahead of Rikiki, looking at her, he wondered again if she was really fine, or if she was pretending, she had apparently fainted, after all. "Are you alright? you were hit by a loud explosion...."

Anshou groggily turned his head and groaned. He had a splitting headache and his mouth was bone dry. He opened his eyes slightly, disoriented. He was in the medical office, and there was Isane-sensei, looking distressed, casting kidou spell after kidou spell. What was going on? Anshou squinted his eyes and tried to get his vision to focus?

He saw Satoko, and he did not look good. He looked dead as a matter of fact. "Wow, I really hope I didn't kill the guy," Anshou said to himself.

Anshou watched her cast away all her kidou and fall down, Satoko looked to be dead. Anshou bit his lip. "Dammit... He's dead... But I didn't mean to!" he said to himself.

Anshou closed his eyes. He really hoped that he hadn't killed Satoko. He couldn't be dead. That would just be...

Then someone burst into the office, it was Hisagi-sensei, he said "I think we're... too late." and Anshou wondered if he was here to arrest him for manslaughter. In with him came that new girl, that Ryoka. And she said "No we are not. I can still save him." Which got Anshou's attention. To his amazement, she pulled out her sword and made a huge golden barrier over Satoko. "What is she doing?" Anshou wondered.

And to his amazement, inside the barrier Satoko's wounds slowly started to heal! She was... doing something a liuetenant couldn't do!

Satoko returned to normal and started to breathe again. He wasn't bleeding and his neck wasn't cut anymore. Anshou was amazed.

He looked on, the ryoka girl, I think her name was Inoue, she fell to the ground after bringing Satoko back to life, then Hanataro and Kanue put her on the bed right next to Anshou, then they left. Anshou looked over at the girl, she was asleep. "Hey, are you asleep?" Anshou whispered quitely. She didn't answer.

Anshou rolled onto his back and began to think. She was a beautiful girl, certainly. Anshou wondered what kind of family she came from on earth. Was she rich? From a noble family like Hikari and Ashibue? She didn't seem like it, she loooked more down to earth. She looked like she didn't have it in her to ever look down on anybody.

"Hey, Inoue-san, are you awake?" Anshou whispered again. "Hey, if you can here me, I'd like to ask you something. Um..." He tried not to think about Hikari. "Do you have a date for the homecoming dance yet?"

The lunch bell rang, and Isane Kotetsu's Shinigami Law and Protocol class was short one teacher. The students of class 3-A slowly shuffled in and sat, mostly out of the force of habit built up over the last couple of weeks. They talked amongst themselves for a while, wondering if they should leave, wondering if Satoko was ok, wondering where the teacher was.

Finally, after most of the lunch period and the lunch mountain on Chiken's tray, Chiken had managed to heal Zetsuemi back to full health by casting refresh... 48 times. For good measure, Chiken cast refresh on himself 4 times to fix up the odd ache he felt from Rikiki's nice shock to snap him out of his daydream during their fight. "Well, I think that's it. That was fun." Chiken smiled, he really did enjoy casting kidou and wasn't even bothered he had to cast it a total of 52 times. Chiken quickly polished off the rest of his lunch before turning his tray in and sitting back down, seeing Kasahara sitting at their table for the first time. "Oh, hello Kasahara! How was your fight? Mine ended early because Rikiki made this cool ball of kidou and then she went to sleep." It doesn't even require pointing out that he didn't notice her bad mood.

However, before she could reply, the bell rang and she and Zetsumei got up to go to class. Not wanting to get lost, Chiken tagged along until reaching the classroom. Once there, he sat at a desk (he seemed to pick a different one every day) and took off his watch. As usual, he started tinkering with it while waiting for Isane-Sensei to arrive.

"...Or, go to class." Rikiki grumbled, looking longingly in the direction of the cafeteria before getting up, and, indicating for Igarashi to follow, skipped off to SL&P.

Ryouichi watched the remaining students trickle in with more than a little anticipation. This would be a chance for him to solidify his position as the Class Representative. The half or so of the class that had already arrived buzzed with activity as the students speculated on the fate of their teacher and missing classmates. Ryouichi waited for several more minutes, and when it seemed like noone else was coming, he decided it was time to make the announcement.

Sighing slightly, Ryouichi stood and made his was to the front of the classroom. Leaning back against the teacher's desk, he took another few moments to collect his thoughts and closed his eyes. When he opened them, Ryouichi started talking, throwing his voice a bit at first in order to reach the more talkative people.

"Your attention, please." Ryouichi called. He paused as he waited for the people who were still talking to get the clue from their more silent classmates. When he was sure that everyone was attentive, he began to speak again. "I know that most of us are worried about Isane-sensei and the members of our class who are currently missing, and as your Representative I feel obligated to let you know that all of them are fine. I followed Shuhei-sensei and Orihime-san to the medical ward, where I spotted Mizukin-san and Takeshi-san almost immediately. Mizukin-san seemed stable, but Takeshi-san was in critical condition, which is to be expected, considering he got his throat cut. Isane-sensei was having some trouble healing him because of how deep the wound was, but then Orihime-san arrived, and together they were able to stabalize him, with the consequences being that they used up pretty much all of their reiatsu in the process, so they're understandably exhuasted right now. When I left, Orihime-san was resting in one of the spare cots, and I suspect that Isane-sensei is now as well."

"So," Ryouichi concluded, trying not to draw out the explanation for too long, "this situation could have turned out as a disaster, but thankfully everyone involved is alright. It will probably take Isane-sensei and the others some time to recover fully, so we'll have free study this period, like Hisagi-sensei suggested." Ryouichi paused for a moment, letting all of the information sink in. "I think that's everyting. Does anybody have any questions?"

"Isane, are you alright? Hey, talk to me," Shuhei knelt down next to the winded teacher.

"I'm fine, Shuhei, just... please, give me some air." Isane gently pushed him away, and he stood up and took a step backwards toward the door.

And right into somebody.

Standing there was Assistant Headmaster Nanao Ise, the glare on her glasses blocking her eyes and making her face look even more humorless than usual.

"Hisagi-sensei." It wasn't a greeting, more like a command. "The Headmaster would like to speak with you concerning your class this afternoon," she said dryly. "Kotetsu-sensei, if you are able, he would like to speak with you as well."

Nanao didn't wait for an acknowledgment before brusquely turning and marching out the door.
